"Writers who are serious about improving, about being supported by other serious writers, will find a home in the St. Louis Writers Workshop. It is sometimes a good step into an MFA program, but even if it is not, it is always a good choice."
— Mary Troy, Director, MFA Program, University of Missouri-St.Louis and award-winning author of three collections of short fiction, including Cookie Lily. |

Want to learn more about writing? Need help with a manuscript? Ready to submit your novel
to publishers? Need help with a query letter? You've come to the right place. The St. Louis Writers Workshop staff, who are some of the most talented, published, award-winning writers in the entire metropolitan area, are dedicated to helping others hone ideas through our writing services: workshops, private instruction, editing, proofreading, and more.
| Through our partnership with St. Louis Writers Guild (SLWG), the area's oldest and largest writers' organization, we offer learning opportunities to writers of all genres and experience levels. We also encourage writers to meet other writers in order to share their knowledge and experiences. Members of SLWG who register in advance on the Guild's website can receive a discount on those workshops that are co-sponsored by St. Louis Writers Workshop and St. Louis Writers Guild. Check out the St. Louis Writers Guild website at www.stlwritersguild.org. |

"The St. Louis Writer's Workshop has become an essential meeting place for new and emerging writers. Director/writer Denise Bogard has organized an impressive program: she's kept the workshops intimate, encouraging, affordable; she's sought out accomplished and dedicated writing instructors. In addition, the workshops are comprised of considerate and genuinely talented student writers. It's been my good fortune to be their teacher."
— John Dalton, award-winning author of Heaven Lake, published by Scribner, 2004 |
